I love when it gets close to Halloween! Not my attention must turn to a costume. Last time I wore one, I was a Hard Salami. What’s next? Hmmm. Halloween store, here I come!
If you haven’t seen what Lzzy Hale of Halestorm was up to earlier this week, hit the hardDriveRadio Facebook page and come back. Lzzy and the other “nun” in the photo is Lzzy’s friend and crew member, Detroit, who handles all of the Halestorm merch, dressed up for an onstage appearance during Ghost‘s performance on Tuesday night (Oct 6th) at The Pageant in St. Louis. The Swedish occult rock band recently announced on their Facebook page they were looking for female fans to dress as nuns and serve drinks during their shows. They were specifically looking for local talent to serve these roles.
Halestorm posted pictures from the evening on their Facebook page, writing, “Sometimes you have a day off in St. Louis on the same day that Ghost is playing in town. And sometimes Ghost not only invites your band out to see their show, but also has your singer/guitarist and production assistant be the Sisters Of Sin for the evening.
THANK YOU, Ghost! That was AWESOME!”
Maybe I will get one of these for Halloween! Slipknot is selling face masks patterned after the ones worn by the band members themselves. The masks are available through the group’s official webstore. They range in price from $32 for seven members’ face masks to $45 for Clown‘s full mask with hair and $60 for DJ Sid Wilson‘s mask with removable face plate.
Singer Corey Taylor told us not long ago what inspired his current mask: “I based the face off of the really great character actor, Richard Lynch. Basically I stole his face, so Richard, I’m sorry, I probably owe you a few bucks. But I thought it was cool. He’s one of my favorite — ’cause he was in a lot of great horror movies and like sci-fi/fantasy movies and whatnot, and he just had a great, gnarly look.“
Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael spilled the beans the band is filming a music video (which I assume must be for “Wash It All Away”) tonight and tomorrow in Uncasville, CT while they perform at Mohegan Sun. Thanks for the post, dude!
Well, finally! Former Sick Puppies singer/guitarist Shim Moore has resurfaced in a new band called Screaming At Demons. The lineup also includes guitarist Russell Ali and bassist Chris Clemence. The band is launching its career with a campaign for the Homeless Rock Stars charity founded by rock photographer Nigel Skeet. Skeet provides homeless people with a makeover, a rock and roll photo shoot and interview and assists in helping them out of homelessness.
Screaming At Demons has recorded a song called “Rockstar” for the campaign, and has shot a video for the track as well. Moore told Loudwire about the new band, “The first song is a really good beginning to the band, but it’s not the full sound of the band . . . We’re still playing around with it a little bit, but it’s definitely gonna be a big, big sound.” Moore said that the band intends to release singles for now, leading up to an EP. The group does not yet have a deal with a record label. For more about the Homeless Rock Stars organization, click here.
