Gee, my dad would’ve been 102 today if he was still with us. But I don’t think he’d want to be 102. Just sayin’….
Well, I have been away from Dirt for a few days. Had some surgery and am recovering. Sort of what I was going through last December, but not AS bad but just really really really sore. Weird when you realize how your core controls just about everything from laughing, to coughing, sneezing and the like. Not to mention, getting up from a chair or bed. UGH. I need a new body.
Let’s start the blog news out with this. My buddy Dave Grohl. Yeah, he’s awesome. He dedicated a song to a little girl who also had a broken leg during a show last week, I think it was in Canada. He also signed her cast!
Meanwhile, Pulse Of Radio reporting a petition has been launched to get the Foo Fighters frontman to host Saturday Night Live. According to Radio.com, the online reads, “This (is) a petition to generate awareness to Lorne Michaels and the executives at NBC and Saturday Night Live so they know that the fans (Grohlies) want Dave Grohl to host SNL with musical guest (Foo Fighters).”
Grohl told us one of his dreams is to host Saturday Night Live: “I’ve been on that show more than any other musician, and so the last four times that I’ve been to the show, all of the cast members look at me and go, ‘Why aren’t you hosting this show?’ I’m like, ‘It’s up to Lorne. It’s Lorne’s call.’ But it’s, I mean honestly, that is the last thing on my bucket list.” Yet Grohl himself seems to have endorsed the petition, appearing in a photo that accompanies it and holding up a sign that reads, “Lorne, I wanna host Saturday Night Live!”
Grohl has appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live more than a dozen times, as a member of Nirvana and Foo Fighters, as well as with Them Crooked Vultures, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Paul McCartney‘s backing band. He’s also appeared in a number of skits. Although other musicians have hosted the long-running late-night show, none of them have performed and participated in sketches as much as Grohl. Foo Fighters perform tomorrow night (Sep 29th) in Oklahoma City.
Lou Brutus attended this weekend’s Sonic Boom in Madison, WI hosted by 94.1 JJO! He got to interview a bunch of bands including Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach and more! Pulse also reporting We Are Harlot and former Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop is now adding “actor” to his resume. Worsnop recently landed a role in the horror musical Allelujah! The Devil’s Carnival, the second film in the Devil’s Carnival series. Worsnop told Alternative Press that his involvement began when he was invited to the first film’s Los Angeles premiere by director Darren Lynn Bousman and screenwriter TerranceZdunich.
Worsnop explained, “After the movie, we were talking, and they were like, ‘We’d really like you to do the second one.’ I was instantly very excited (but) by the time it got to figuring out when shooting times were, I was on tour. So we had to cancel it. And then, when I had a tour canceled last minute, I hit them up. So Terrance scrambled and wrote me into the script real quick.” Worsnop plays a character in the film known as “the Smith,” saying, “He believes himself to be a lot smarter than the other minions of Hell, and he’s very unimpressed by what they think are genius and foolproof plans and ideas. He sees through it all.”
Worsnop has one previous film credit to his name, in a movie called What Now. Worsnop told us about the experience: “It’s a comedy, I wasn’t in it for very long, but I can divulge that I was having a sex act performed on me in the part I was in, which I have deemed very appropriate. And I’m not quite sure the solidarity of my performance, as I was highly intoxicated when I showed up.” The singer says he “fell in love” with acting and secured a manager and agent after making Allelujah! so he could pursue more work in the field. He said, “The Rock is remaking Baywatch, I’d love to get a part in that.” Worsnop is currently working on his first solo album, which he says will lean in a country music direction, what???
Pulse also says Frances Bean Cobain recently married her longtime boyfriend Isaiah Silva, but forgot to invite one person to the wedding: her mother, Courtney Love. According to the Daily Mirror, the wedding was secret and very intimate, and Love was only told about it after the fact on the phone by her daughter.
A source reported, “Courtney and Frances have had a strained relationship over the years, but after tons of fallouts they actually get on quite well now. Courtney is sad she wasn’t there but she totally understands that Frances is her own person and she’s happy to let her do her own thing. Plus, Isaiah is a really nice guy.”
Have a great day!
