Oh man, it’s almost September! Summer, where did you go???
Well, the hardDrive Live Fallout tour was announced with All That Remains teaming up with We Came As Romans to co-headline. The tour begins Oct 14th in Grand Rapids, MI and runs through Nov 07th when it ends in Worcester, MA.
All That Remains frontman Phil LaBonte told us what it takes for all the bands on a tour to become friends: “To be flat-out honest with you, it depends on how long the drives are. Because the longer the drives, the earlier you have to leave to get to the next show. If you’ve got short drives, you don’t have to leave very early, so there’s way more opportunity to hang out and meet people and party and stuff like that.”
Emmure will be direct support for the entire tour, with Red Sun Rising opening from Oct 14th – 28th and Failure Anthem from Nov 02 -07 and on Oct 17, Failure Anthem also replaces Red Sun Rising in Nashville. Check them out: www.failureanthem.com.
Tickets and VIP packages are available this morning (Aug 28th) at 10:00 a.m. local time at www.HardDriveLiveFallout.com. Phil Labonte said about the trek, “All That Remains is excited to announce we’ll hitting the road with We Came As Romans and working with hardDrive again this fall.” We will rock you with this one!
On the hardDrive Live Tour front, both Tremonti‘s Mark Tremonti and Trivium‘s Matt Heafy will do the hardDriveRadio APP “AMA” on Sunday, Sep 20th in Patchogue, NY. Time is 6 PM. So put it in your calendars and get ready! www.harddrivelivetour.com
The Pulse Of Radio reports Shinedown has released a brand new song called “State Of My Head” from the band’s upcoming album, Threat To Survival. The track follows the first single, “Cut The Cord,” and another new track called “Black Cadillac” as the third tune from the record to be previewed online. Threat To Survival is due out September 18th and is Shinedown’s first all-new studio set since 2012’s Amaryllis.
Drummer Barry Kerch told us the band had a great time for once recording the new CD: “This was the most fun I’ve had — and I think I can speak for the rest of the guys — making a Shinedown record. Usually it’s a pressure cooker and the studio environment’s not a lot of fun with this band. This time we all kind of took a seat back and actually had a blast making this record, and it was done in little spurts so it was a lot of fun.” Shinedown will kick off a major U.S. tour beginning with ‘CPR‘s show on Oct 02nd in Mobile, AL. They’ll be joined by Breaking Benjamin as of Oct 16 and Sevendust joins both bands from Nov 02-24. (More on them later in the blog!)
Foo Fighters play Wrigley Field tomorrow in Chicago. Oh man! Line up: Foos, Cheap Trick, Naked Raygun, Urge Overkill. That is AWESOME! Hit the Foos merch site to pay them! They’re so AWESOME!
Meanwhile, The Pulse Of Radio also says two well-established Guns N’ Roses fan news sites have cautioned the recent news about singer Axl Rose and former guitarist Slashreconciling after 19 years doesn’t necessarily mean the classic lineup of the band will reunite. But one of the sites also added the band is “mulling its options,” although who is doing the actual mulling remains unclear.
Guns N’ Roses News wrote, “Only GNR can speak for GNR, but all that’s happened here is that Axl and Slash are on better personal terms. So far there has been no indication of an immediate plan to do business together. Why would GNR make an official announcement about Axl and Slash communicating if a business model involving the two is yet to be agreed? It doesn’t make any sense. GNR is mulling its options. There’s no need to fan the flames of any particular possibility at this point.” Current Guns guitarist Richard Fortus told a St. Louis radio station last week — possibly before Slash revealed his news — “there’s a lot going on” with the band at the moment, adding, “Next year is going to be the big year for Guns N’ Roses.” Hmmmmm. Guess we’ll have to wait n’ see…..
Sevendust has posted a new song via a lyric video for “Not Today” from their forthcoming album, Kill The Flaw, out Oct 02. Love this band so much! They’re like brothers to our show. Catch them starting next month with Godsmack. Looking forward to seeing them at the Food Truck & Rock Carnival in Clark, NJ Sep 19-20. According to a post on Blabbermouth, frontman Lajon Witherspoon said “We took some time off from the heavy side of Sevendust, and when it came time to record some new music, Clint, John, Vinnie, Morgan and I put everything we had in to what became Kill The Flaw. We love this new music and we can’t wait to share it with our amazing SEVENDUST family!”
And finally today, our friends in Like A Storm have posted a lyric video for “Become The Enemy.” Watch it here.
Have a killer weekend! See ya Monday!
