Slipknot has yet to unveil the album’s title or release date, although a music video for “The Negative One” arrives tomorrow (Aug 05th) which is also when you can purchase it on iTunes. Tomorrow night on hardDrive XL with Lou Brutus, Lou will be spotlighting Slipknot and the new tune with his exclusive interview with Corey Taylor! You won’t be able to hear him ANYWHERE else but here! The new album is Slipknot’s first without late bassist Paul Gray, who died in 2010, and singer Corey Taylor told us the band’s remaining members pulled closer together in the studio: “It was almost like getting to know each other again. We were all kind of grieving in our own way and dealing with things in our own way, and knowing that we had to be healthy to go in, we had to be creative to go in, and knowing that we were gonna have to fill this huge void, we just kind of took it upon ourselves to make up for that emptiness by being a little bit of Paul. Like we were all a little bit of Paul in our own way.” Don’t miss the XL tomorrow night! You can stream it on several radio stations around the country. Hit our Facebookand home page here to find WHERE TO LISTEN. All times are from 7-midnight in all time zones, except Columbus, OH (midnight to 5 AM.)….Korn is preparing to make a video for the new song “Hater” and wants fans to get involved. The band is asking for people to submit video clips in which they speak about their experiences as victims of bullying, abuse or hatred and how it affected them. Some of the submissions will show up in the finished video. The group has posted several questions to address in the clips, as well some general format guidelines. Among the questions are ”What did the bully, abuser, or hater do? List off the things they said or did.” A second question reads, “How did it make you feel? List off some of the thoughts and feelings going through your head.” Other instructions include items about keeping the videos short, keeping any background noises like TVs or air conditioners off and hiding any logos except Korn’s. Video submissions should be emailed to kornhatervideo@gmail.com. “Hater” is taken from the expanded edition of the band’s latest album, The Paradigm Shift. Korn is currently on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour with Avenged Sevenfold. The trek pulls into Atlanta tomorrow (Aug 05)…Jack White played a three-hour, 38-song homecoming show in Detroit last Wednesday night (Jul 30), where he was joined onstage at one point by singer Alison Mosshart and guitarist Dean Fertita of his band The Dead Weather for a run through the group’s “I Cut Like A Buffalo.” According to Rolling Stone, Mosshart and White shared vocal duties on the song. White reportedly played another Dead Weather track, “Blue Blood Blues,” during the encore without his bandmates. The rest of White’s epic set list spanned his entire career, including plenty of tracks from the White Stripes and both his solo albums, as well as a brief snippet of Led Zeppelin‘s “Lemon Song” and a cover of Beck‘s “Devil’s Haircut.” White played at Detroit’s Masonic Temple, which he allegedly saved from foreclosure last year by paying off its reported $142,000 in back taxes so it could stay open. The venue then renamed its 1,586-capacity Cathedral Theater as the Jack White Theater in his honor. White is touring in support of his second solo album, Lazaretto, and next plays in Kansas City on Aug 18. See Road Rage for more. And in case you missed it, here is Jack’s first pitch last week at Comerica Park. Tell me THAT’s not surreal!…. Pulse Of Radio reports an online campaign to get Ozzy Osbourne knighted has already notched more than 21,000 signatures, according to NME.com. A 65-year-old British fan named Helen Maidiotis has launched the petition, saying that the Black Sabbath singer deserves the honor for “his significant contribution to the music industry.” She added he deserves to be knighted “not only for all his charity work but for all his years entertaining us and helping make a difference to peoples’ lives who have looked up to him for his strong will and determination to get through the many obstacles that he has come across and for that we thank you Ozzy! Helping to get him Knighted would be our gift to him.” When asked about the campaign in a recent interview, Ozzy said, “I’ve heard about that. Getting knighted? I can’t imagine anything better . . . And my wife (Sharon) would become a Lady, which would be pretty cool. But I’m not gonna get upset if it doesn’t happen. I never thought I’d get further than Aston (the area of Birmingham where he was born).”…Pulse Of Radio also published these nuggets of info: First, and most important to me: Foo Fighters have set October 17th as the premiere date of the band’s upcoming HBO series Sonic Highways.
