Man, I just watched the trailer for the upcoming film, Mother!, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. Holy crap! It looks scary!
I am happy to report ebay came to their senses and stopped the cretins who posted funeral items from the Chester Bennington funeral service on the shopping site. The items have been removed. Hopefully the family did not see that. What a world we live in!
In other news, this from RollingStone.com, Chester Bennington‘s family will decide whether the late singer’s episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series will air. In an interview Tuesday with The Associated Press, host James Corden said the Apple Music show will “approach it in whichever manner his family, or the people [who] were involved in that episode, would like it to be handled.”

Blabbermouth reporting Metallica is planning to reissue its third album, 1986’s Master Of Puppets, before the end of 2017 or early next year. Like the group’s first two LPs, 1983’s Kill ‘Em All and 1984’s Ride The Lightning — both of which were reissued in April 2016 — “Master” is expected to be remastered for the most advanced sound quality and will be available in several formats, including a deluxe box set.
Speaking to Quebec, Canada’s Voir, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich stated about the Master Of Puppets reissue: “It should be coming maybe later… We’ll try to see if we can get it out at the end of this year. It’s coming soon. We’re working on it. There’s a lot of stuff associated with Master Of Puppets; that’s a big project. And we’ve spent so much time looking forward, with [the latest Metallica album] ‘Hardwired [… To Self-Destruct]’ and so on, but Master Of Puppets is obviously next. [It will be out] hopefully late this year. If not, soon thereafter.”
Master Of Puppets was released on Feb 24, 1986 and was the first album Metallica recorded after signing a major label deal with Elektra Records. The set only reached No. 29 on the Billboard album chart but has sold over six million copies in the U.S. since. It is the last record to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed later that year in a tour bus crash. Several songs from the album are still staples of Metallica‘s live set, including “Battery,” “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” and the title track. Many fans consider it the band‘s finest album, a fact that the band acknowledged by playing it in its entirety on a European tour in 2006.
“Metallica: Back To The Front,” the definitive story of Master Of Puppets and the tour that followed its release, hit bookstores and online sellers last September. A very special Collector’s Edition of the book was made available two weeks earlier through Metallica.com and MoonriseMedia.net.
“That album, it’s interesting, because from the moment it was released, it never went away,” guitarist Kirk Hammett said last year while promoting the book. “It still has not and there are no signs of it going away at all.”
“It was still rebellious,” frontman James Hetfield said. “Back then, it was still the four of us in a van out to conquer the world.”
“I really feel that a lot of the music on ‘Master Of Puppets’, we pulled it out of a deep place,” Hammett added. “A lot of it, it’s just so emotional, from the music to the lyrics to the guitar solos to even the arrangements. It’s so dramatic.”
In a completely different (and disgusting) Metallica item from Alternative Nation, a fan, Daniel Francis Daddio, of Albuquerque, is suspected of urinating on a man and woman and a 10-year-old girl at a recent Metallica show in Phoenix, according to a report on 12News.
Daddio allegedly began urinating on the family, who were seated in a row in front of him at the concert at University of Phoenix Stadium, at around 9PM The father told Arizona state troopers that “all three of his family members felt warm liquid washing over their backs and legs,” according to court documents. After turning around to investigate, the father reportedly “observed Daniel Francis Daddio standing behind them in the row of seats just above theirs with his penis out of his pants and in his hands… Daddio was urinating on all three of his family members.”
Court records say the father confronted Daddio about what he was doing, but the the 44-year-old reportedly just “shrugged.” The father then reported the event to stadium employees, who notified the Department of Public Safety.
A DPS offer responded to the location and was pointed to Daddio by the father, records said. Daddio denied the incident ever occurred, but was arrested at about 9:40PM Daddio’s ticket confirmed he was sitting directly behind the family, records said.
Daddio made his first court appearance over the weekend. During Daddio’s arraignment, the judge declared: “I have to say in the 15 years I’ve been on the bench, this is one of the most disgusting scenarios I’ve ever read. In any event, really inappropriate,” according to Phoenix’s Fox 10.
Daddio was released from jail. He faces disorderly conduct and indecent exposure charges. Daddio is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug 18. He should be banned from ever attending a concert again! Or drinking, for that matter! UGH!
You could care or maybe not, but “The Boss,” aka BRUUUUUUUCE, Bruce Springsteen, is opening a run on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City. Previews begin Oct 3rd and the show runs from Oct 12-Nov 26.
In a statement, Springsteen said, “I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind. In fact, with one or two exceptions, the 960 seats of the Walter Kerr Theater is probably the smallest venue I’ve played in the last 40 years.”
“My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music,” Springsteen explained. “Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work.”
he new Queens of the Stone Age album Villains has leaked, with a thread on the QOTSA Reddit detailing it. The album is set for release on Aug 25th.“The Evil Has Landed” has an ethereal Led Zeppelin quality to it, especially Josh Homme’s guitar playing. It definitely brings back memories of Them Crooked Vultures’ lone record. “Villains of Circumstance” is another highlight, and it continues the melancholy lyrics and music heard on …Like Clockwork‘s ballads. The ‘I’ll be forever yours’ hook though feels very uplifting, and gives the song a feeling of triumphantly rising up out of darkness.“Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” is one of the more best dancey tracks on the album, combining a riff similar to “The Way You Used To” with synths, which are heard throughout the album.
“Head Like A Haunted House” is a fun track and should be a live favorite, with a Nirvanaesque hooky riff.
Villains definitely works when it is at its most ambitious, those are the strongest tracks, while the more by the numbers tracks don’t quite work as well. The album is not as powerful or consistent as …Like Clockwork on first listen (though that could change later), but there are definitely some great tracks for longtime fans.
