In other news, Jeremy Spencer, you know him and love him as Five Finger Death Punch‘s drummer, is opening a new tattoo removal shop, Phaze Laser Tattoo Removalon Friday in his hometown of Las Vegas. If you’ve ever had that tattoo of a boy or girlfriend’s name you no longer are with or just a bad tattoo, this is the place to have it removed. It’s a new laser technology and it’s faster and less painful than previous systems you may have experienced. Good luck with it, Jeremy!….Pulse Of Radio reporting Slash and his band Myles Kennedy &The Conspirators will release a double CD, triple vinyl set, Blu-ray and DVD on June 15th titled Live At The Roxy 25.9.14. According to Blabbermouth, the package was recorded on Sept 25th, 2014 at the legendary Roxy nightclub in West Hollywood, CA, shortly after Slash issued his third solo album, World On Fire. Slash told us a while back leading his own solo outfit continues to be a satisfying experience: “One of the great things about working with these guys is there’s no issues. All they want to do is play, and they love rock ‘n’ roll and they’re just — they’re fully into it and it’s sort of like when you’re working with people that don’t have any other baggage that they’re concerned about.” The set list features a mix of current tunes, other tracks from Slash’s previous solo records, and classics from his earlier bands Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver. Among the songs included are “Nightrain,” “Back From Cali,” “You Could Be Mine,” “Bent To Fly,” “You’re A Lie,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Slither,” “Paradise City” and more. In addition to Slash and singer Myles Kennedy, the Conspirators features drummer Brent Fitz, bassist Todd Kerns and touring guitarist Frank Sidoris. (Note: Brent Fitz was also the drummer for a short period of time with Theory Of A Deadman….) Love me some Slash. Looking forward to seeing him in April here in the Big Apple….Smashing Pumpkins & Marilyn Manson are touring together this July and August on “The End Times” Tour. (See Road Rage-tix on sale Friday). On Thursday, The Pumpkins will perform on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Smashing Pumpkins also debuted the video for their new single, “Drum + Fife” this week on Vevo. Billy Corgan says “I asked, albeit in an allegorical way, for the video to represent what our returning soldiers are going through with PTSD, and I feel that the directors captured that with poignancy. I couldn’t be more proud of the message we’re sending that we care what happens to those that are out there hurting.” … .Celebrating a birthday today, my ole pal AC/DC lead guitarist Angus Young turns 60 years old on today (Mar 31st). Since 1974, Angus has been the iconic image of the band in his trademark schoolboy uniform, while also influencing generations of guitar players with his fluid solos and the no-nonsense, blues-inspired, straightforward writing style he’s shared for decades with his brother and AC/DC co-founder, guitarist Malcolm Young. Angus was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1955, the youngest of eight children, to William and Margaret Young. The family emigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1963. Angus’s first instrument was a banjo, followed by an acoustic guitar purchased second-hand by his mother, and then an electric guitar. He bought his first Gibson SG in 1970. Angus played in local groups before he formed AC/DC at the age of 18 with Malcolm and other musicians from the area, including original singer Dave Evans. The band’s first single was called “Can I Sit Next To You Girl” and Angus tried a number of stage costumes before his sister suggested his now classic schoolboy jacket, tie and shorts. Here’s a 2001 performance of “Let There Be Rock.” And a VH1 compilation of great moments of Angus! Blistering! (Thanks Pulse Of Radio)…..And while you are in the mood for watching stuff, here’s Van Halen’s “Panama” & “Runnin’ With The Devil“, as seen last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Poor Dave. Watch this.
