OooooooohhhhhH! Friday The 13th! LOVE IT! Watch out, that’s all I’m saying!
LOL It doesn’t feel like hell. It’s 10 degrees in the Frozen Apple. Although where we are going this weekend in the Adirondacks, it is -6. Yikes!…..Let’s start out today with this. Blabbermouth reports a video tour through the home and recording studio of late Pantera and Damageplan guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott has been posted online. The clip has been produced to accompany the February 2015 issue of Guitar World magazine, which is dedicated to commemorating the 10th anniversary of the beloved musician’s death. As part of its tribute, the magazine was allowed to bring cameras into Abbott’s home, called “The Fortress,” in Dalworthington Gardens, TX. (Love that there’s a sign in his studio “Did you turn the mike off and the hard drive.”) (Blabbermouth)….Apocalyptica, who stopped by the hardDriveRadio studios for an amazing acoustic performance, have posted the tune “Cold Blood” from their forthcoming Shadowmaker album, due April 7th. Their lead singer is Franky Perez…. I am hearing Kid Rock‘s tour will be announced on Tuesday. 🙂 And In This Moment will be announcing something soon as well. STP also have some dates in April coming up. They also plan to have an new album ready this summer. Speaking of STP, Scott Weiland has revealed the nearly two-year-old legal dispute with his former band, Stone Temple Pilots, has been settled. Although he did not get into specifics, Weiland told us that both parties have moved on: “It settled and everything is behind us now and, you know, I want to have a great time working Blaster and I wish, you know, my former bandmates best of luck and just want to move on forward.” STP dismissed Weiland in Feb 2013, claiming that his solo activities and erratic behavior were detrimental to the band. The group later sued Weiland, with the singer firing off a countersuit and claiming that they could not use the band name without his involvement. In the meantime, STP hired Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington as their new vocalist, releasing an EP called High Rise in Oct 2013. The band is now at work on a new album. Weiland and his group The Wildabouts will release Blaster on Mar 31st….Blabbermouth reports on my pals Adelitas Way. The Las Vegas hard rockers have released their new single, “I Get Around,” on most major digital retail outlets. The track, which can be streamed below, is taken from the band’s forthcoming EP, Deserve This, due on Mar 17. The band is currently in the midst of a successful Pledge Music campaign for its fourth full-length album. “We are in the jam room preparing to write, record and release our [new CD]!” states frontman Rick DeJesus. Heard several tracks off it and it is a huge step up for the band!…. Pulse Of Radio also reports Courtney Love told David Letterman on Tuesday night’s (Feb 10th) edition of Late Show that she and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl have buried the hatchet once and for all. The widow of Kurt Cobain and the one-time Nirvana drummer famously feuded for years after Cobain’s death but embraced each other publicly at the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. Love told Letterman the good will has remained since last April, explaining, “We’re friends again — we text, and we’re cool. I think you just get to an age where, ‘Why are we suing each other? Really?’ It just got stupid. Honestly, me and Dave Grohl, we had some gnarly times over 20 years. And if we can make up, anyone can make up. We’re really cool now.” Love also discussed the upcoming documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck, which will premiere on HBO on May 4th. She told Letterman, “It’s anguish. It’s very moving. I’ve seen it now three times, and I’m probably not going to see it again. It’s too much. People were in tears.” She added, “The director, Brett Morgen, did a fantastic job on it. I trusted him completely . . . and gave him the keys to my storage and said ‘tell the truth.’” Morgen was given complete access to the personal archives of Cobain and his family for the film, which premiered last month at the Sundance Film Festival. Love is working on a new album and will head out on tour this May with Lana Del Rey…..Birthdays being celebrated this weekend: Today: Henry Rollins is 54, Todd Harrell ex 3 Doors Down is 43, Peter Gabriel is 65 and Jerry Springer is 71.
