It marks the band’s highest rank on the chart since 2009’s Metamorphosis bowed at Number Eight. Papa Roach’s last effort, 2012’s The Connection, sold 22,000 copies to debut at Number 17. (Billboard)…Pop Evil has landed a string of dates as the opening act for Nickelback during the second leg of the Canadian band’s massive North American trek. Pop Evil will support Nickelback starting March 22nd in Nashville and ending April 7th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The jaunt kicks off on February 14th in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with The Pretty Reckless along as support through March 15th….Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has officially confirmed that he is one of the artists working in the studio on a secret project with Paul McCartney and Lady Gaga. McCready and Gaga exchanged tweets on Wednesday (February 4th), with Gaga calling Pearl Jam “life changing” and McCready saying, “Your voice is truly amazing and it was an honor to work with you!” (Alternative Nation)….Incubus has unveiled its new single, “Absolution Calling,” that will appear on its forthcoming four-track EP, Trust Fall (Side A), set for release on March 24th via the band’s new label Island Records. “Absolution Calling” is available to download on iTunes and also arrives with a lyric video. Trust Fall (Side A) is the first of two planned EPs for 2015, with the second potentially coming this summer and both comprising the band’s first full album since 2011’s If Not Now, When?. (Rolling Stone)….British trio Muse seemed to have confirmed that their seventh studio album will be titled Drones. According to Diffuser, the band posted several images on their Instagram account which look like magazine covers with the text and the band’s eyes blacked out. Both are accompanied by the hashtag “MuseDrones.” The possibility of Drones being the title of the record first came up last week, when a short audio clip posted on Instagram by the group featured a studio video screen on which the word could be seen under the heading of “Album.”….I hear the same folks who manage Muse, Three Days Grace, The Black Keys and Metallica (among others) will now be handling Volbeat.
