Via the interact link on the home page or the interact live section of the new hardDriveRadio APP!…..Well, I guess Dave Grohl won’t be at the Grammys as I had hoped as a fill-in drummer! Former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade is rumored to have rejoined the band in time for their performance at the 57th annual Grammy Awards this Sunday (Feb 8th). According to Blabbermouth, Slade was scheduled to take part in an event last Saturday (Jan 31st) at the Rowland Heights, CA optometry practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu, but postponed his appearance. Liu wrote on Facebook, “There’s actually big news regarding Slade and his career coming in (the) next several days which is why he had to reschedule this event.” The 68-year-old Slade followed Simon Wright in AC/DC’s lineup, joining in time to play on 1990’s The Razor’s Edge. He was dismissed from the group when longtime drummer Phil Rudd returned in 1995 after an 11-year absence. As previously reported, Rudd probably won’t join his bandmates for their performance at the Grammy Awards. Rudd is scheduled to appear in a Tauranga, New Zealand courtroom just two days later, on Feb 10th, for a review of the charges brought against him late last year. Rudd was arrested at his Tauranga home in early November on charges of threatening to kill and possession of marijuana and meth. He is currently out on bail. Rudd missed a photo shoot and the video shoots for the first two singles off the new AC/DC album, Rock Or Bust, at the end of October. The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS-TV from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET. Set your DVR so you don’t miss a minute of this weekend’s hardDrive with Lou Brutus! (Although I suspect AC/DC will open the show, but what do I know?)….Poor Halestorm AND the Eric Church band! Everyone came down with a terrible stomach virus, which forced Church to perform his show acoustically all by himself! Yep, Lzzy Hale and the boys had to cancel their show as well as a big promotion that was arranged with local Reno station and hardDrive affiliate, K-DOT. What a drag! In a statement, the band said “Unfortunately, Lzzy has the nasty flu that we have been trying so hard to avoid. We love Reno and have rescheduled the show for June 16th. Your tickets to tonight’s show will be honored on that date, so hold on to them. We’re going to take care of Lzzy, hunker down, and try to stay healthy. See you in June!” Hale herself added, “I’m so sorry about the cancellation tonight! Seems I’ve caught a bug I was trying to avoid. As you all know, I hate canceling shows; I can’t even remember the last time I did.” In other news, Halestorm will film a new music video in the Los Angeles area this Friday, Feb 6th, for an undisclosed song from the band’s upcoming album, Into The Wild Life. The group stated, “(We are) looking for our beloved diehard freaks to be in the video! Please send your photo, age and full contact information to halestormcasting@gmail.com.” Fans with “tattoos, piercings, (a) fun hairstyle (and) a generally interesting look” are asked to submit photos highlighting those details. Those selected to appear in the video will be notified with all the details and must provide their own transportation to and from the shoot. Halestorm recently released the video for “Apocalyptic,” the first single from Into The Wild Life. The band’s third studio offering arrives on April 7th in the U.S….Blabbermouth reports Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane has joined forces with original Godsmack guitarist Lee Richards in a new project called RICHARDS/CRANE. The new band’s first single, “Black & White”, is a duet with Aleter Bridge/Slash singer Myles Kennedy. The track is taken from RICHARDS/CRANE’s forthcoming debut album, World Stands Still, which is due later in the year. The video for “Black & White” was filmed on the streets of London and backstage at the last year’s Download festival, and features cameos from Kennedy, Steel Panther, Benji Webbe (Skindred), Philip Anselmo, Dee Snider and Chris Jericho. Crane and Richards previously collaborated in Another Animal, which also featured Godsmack bassist Robbie Merrill, guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin…..I got this from Consequence of Sound: Last summer, teenage metal band Unlocking the Truth inked themselves a Sony record deal worth over one million dollars. Hefty bank accounts aside, perhaps one of the best indications that the young rockers have officially “made it” came when they jammed on-stage recently with a true icon of metal in Marilyn Manson. The two acts joined forces in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania last Saturday as part of Manson’s North American tour in support of his album The Pale Emperor. Together, Unlocking the Truth and Manson ripped through a fierce performance of Manson’s 1996 hit single “The Beautiful People”, strutting across the stage as a bevy of flashing lights blazed behind them. Watch fan-shot footage here…..And ya gotta love Jimmy Fallon. He is so amazing!!!! Watch this performance from his show last night with Neil Young!…..Happy 67th to Alice Cooper!
