Did you see the shot of the mayor being bitten by the groundhog yesterday! PAY BACK! LOL…..Well, NYC looks like a glazed donut and walking is freaking TREACHEROUS! I am so afraid I am going to fall and hurt myself! (Whimper)…..Let’ kick off the news today from Pulse Of Radio: Slash has four new film projects in the works through his production company, Slasher Films, according to Billboard. Although a previous report indicated he had a new movie headed to the screen, the guitarist revealed more films are in the pipeline. He explained, “I’ve got four plates spinning at this point. I should have something out at the end of this year.” Slash indicated in an earlier interview with Team Rock what his next picture could be, saying, “It’s called Cut Throat Scenario and I’m producing that, we’re just starting to cast it. The director wrote it, so we have that done, now it’s just a case of raising the money to make it! It’s nothing like Nothing Left To Fear though.” Nothing Left To Fear was the first movie released through the Slasher Films banner. It was released in 2013 via VOD and home video, with a limited theatrical run as well. Slash told us not long ago what attracted him to becoming a movie producer: “I didn’t set out one day and go, ‘Hey, you know, I’d really like to produce movies’ and make some phone calls. It was sort of dropped into my lap by another producer. And I really wasn’t sure, you know, I didn’t know if I had the aptitude for it, you know — like, what exactly does that entail? But from a creative point of view, I was all over it, and so I just sort of jumped in and found that it didn’t feel all that different than the way I feel when I’m making music.” Slash attended last month’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where he presumably worked at setting up financing and distribution deals for his upcoming films. Slash will tour Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South America for the next two months before returning to the U.S. for a handful of festivals. Meanwhile, TMZ was the welcome wagon for Slash’s girlfriend Meegan Hodges as the couple was moving into their new home outside of LA. Gotta be a drag to be stalked by the paparazzi. Ugh, I’d be hating on that….. Pulse also says Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong continues to forge a second career as an actor. According to Loudwire, Armstrong has a role in a movie called Like Sunday, Like Rain, alongside former Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and Will And Grace star Debra Messing. The movie is written and directed by veteran actor Frank Whaley, who has appeared in films such as Field Of Dreams, JFK, Hoffa and The Doors. Armstrong will play a character named Dennis, described as a “troubled boyfriend.” The plot revolves around Meester’s character being hired by Messing’s character to care for her 12-year-old son, who is a cello prodigy. The film is due out on March 13th. It was reported last November Armstrong will also star in an upcoming movie called Geezer. The film is a comedy about a musician and father who deals with his mid-life crisis by throwing a lavish 40th birthday party for himself, only to encounter his ex-girlfriend and former bandmates who have since moved on to bigger and better things. Armstrong wrote and is performing new songs for Geezer, which also stars Judy Greer, Fred Armisen, Selma Blair, Dallas Roberts and Chris Messina. Armstrong previously appeared in the movie This Is 40 and the TV shows Nurse Jackie and Haunted, while also starring in the Broadway production of American Idiot, the stage musical based on Green Day’s 2004 album. Green Day, along with Joan Jett, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18th in Cleveland…..Nate Mendel, bassist of the Foo Fighters, has a new side project coming out March 10th called Lieutenant. The album is called If I Kill This Thing, We’re Going To Eat For A Week. See Road Rage for dates for Nate for March and early April.
