Hello! Happy to report we’ve posted yet another new full length interview on the new hardDriveRadio APP for your listening enjoyment! Talked to Chad Taylor of Live on Tuesday and am so excited for their new album, The Turn, which hits Oct 28th. Live fans will be very happy with their new singer Chris Shinn (formerly of Unified Theory, the band that formed after Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon passed away.) Anyhow, it’s a must listen for anyone who is into Live (check out their new song, “The Way Around Is Through” here) and into bands who come back after a long hiatus. And you get to hear me gush! LOL Check it out on the FREE hardDriveRadio APP on Google Play and iTunes for Android and iPhone users. Alas, you Windows phone owners, this app doesn’t play well with that company, and we apologize! And iPad, thought it was able to adapt, but I was wrong. So no, just for smartphones. And the new in studio video interview with Black Veil Brides is also posted! So much to see and do on the app, it’s RIDICULOUS!…Pulse of Radio checks in with news that Volbeat lead guitarist Rob Caggiano told Soundcrave magazine in a new interview the Danish/American group will start working on its sixth studio album by next summer. Caggiano said, “We have been floating around some ideas. We will probably go back to the studio next year, maybe in August. We have some much-needed down (time) coming up. We finish this album cycle in November in the U.K., then obviously the holidays and some family time. Next year, we will start getting into creative mode and start doing some stuff.” Caggiano told us while the band has worked up some new material on tour, it’s hard to concentrate on writing new music while on the road: “We’ve been flirting around with some riffs on the road, we’ve been actually trying some different things live, actually — it’s been going great — but yeah, you know, right now we’re very much focused on touring. It’s a very full-on schedule and for me to be creative I’ve got to be in a certain headspace. But you know, of course I do have riffs stashed away.” Check out the band performing their new single “Doc Holliday” at this summer’s Rock Am Ring! Michael Poulsen told me a while back when the band was on a break before this new run, he was going to begin writing and there is a possibility there will be a new song appearing in their sets, but not sure if this has happened. I am bummed I won’t be able to see them tomorrow night in Newark, NJ because I have to drive upstate to get my car and return the rental (had a collision with a deer a couple of weeks ago, which resulted in over $4,700 of damage on my Subi!) So, I am bummed to say the least that I can’t be in town! WAH! I am gonna be missing a ton of great shows coming up too. Damn! But Lou Brutus has the honor of co-hosting KNOTFEST in San Bernardino, CA Oct 24-26. Needless to say, he is thrilled and will be announcing several of the bands, including Volbeat! So make sure you say hello to him if you run into him on the site! Perhaps as he is wandering around the attractions area enjoying the “aroma of Knotfest”! I can’t stop laughing about that!…..Meanwhile, Bush released the new music video for their tune “The Only Way Out.” It was filmed in reverse, only to flip halfway through and end in the same place it started. It features Gavin Rossdale carrying a TV on which the image of him sings the song, while chaos reigns around him.which had to be a challenge for the band! (OMG, guitarist Chris Traynor…was there ever a more handsome man?) Check out the clip here. And watch for Gav to appear on The Voice on Oct 13 (he originally told us it would be the following week, but apparently the date changed). And on Oct 14, Bush will reissue four of its previous albums in remastered editions, including 1994’s Sixteen Stone, 1996’s Razorblade Suitcase, 1999’s The Science of Things and the 1997 remix LP, Deconstructed….This weekend, I really want to see Gone Girl. Trent Reznor once again has teamed up with director David Fincher to score the film with his co-producer Atticus Ross. The Nine Inch Nails frontman says he’s ready to take a break from live work after being on the road for a year behind the band’s latest album, Hesitation Marks, as well as with his other act, How To Destroy Angels. Reznor told Rolling Stone, “I’m not deeply involved in anything at the moment. I just want to center myself and see what feels exciting. It won’t be touring for a while. I’ve found as I’ve gotten older that, you know, between this and How to Destroy Angels, I’ve been out for 18 months. That’s enough. I’m ready to wake up in the same location for a while.” Nine Inch Nails’ most recent tour paired the group with Soundgarden for a U.S. summer run. Gone Girl, which stars Ben Affleck and opens on tomorrow (Oct 3rd), is the pair’s third score for director Fincher, following The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and their Oscar-winning work on The Social Network. Reznor called the film “uncompromising,” adding, “I felt it was a surprisingly nasty film on a few levels — the parody side of it, the commentary on society and the media right now, the rumination on marriage.” He’s so “heady,” ain’t he?….OK, now I HAVE heard everything! They are making a movie based on “Angry Birds”??!! Seriously? Yep! Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Peter Dinklage have been added to the cast of the big-screen adaptation of Angry Birds. The group joins previously announced actors Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress and Keegan-Michael Key. Producer John Cohen said in a statement, “I’m extremely proud of this cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they’re surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent — these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we’re thrilled to have them all on board.” Angry Birds will be released on July 1st, 2016. Oy! Can you just hear the theme music on opening credits? LOL…..Celebrating life today: Jim Root of Slipknot is 43! Sting is the Big 6-0 and famed photographer Annie Liebovitz is 65. Worked at Rolling Stone when she was still on staff. Her work remains amazing!
