It’s Monday! I, like Bob Geldof, do not like Mondays…..Our British friends You Me At Six has cracked the rock radio Top 5 with the single “Room To Breathe,” taken from the band’s fourth studio album, Cavalier Youth. This is the first time that You Me At Six has even gotten on American radio, although drummer Dan Flint told us the group has been coming over to play in the States for a while: “Yeah, it’s not our first time. We’ve been here a few times. We’ve toured around America quite a few times. I think you have to as a band, starting out, you can’t just expect to sort of walk over to America and be like, ‘We’re massive’ kind of thing. So, you know, I think this might be our 10th time coming back to America. So, yeah, you know, it’s starting to grow, the record’s doing really well — we’ve never even been worked at radio, so the fact that we’re actually getting spins is pretty incredible for us.” You MUST check out their 2011 video for the tune “Bite My Tongue,” which features Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon. It’s awesome! The band is getting ready to return to the U.S. for their tour with Young Guns, which kicks off Sep 15th in LA. Our winner Brittney from Georgia is excited and is headed there on Sunday! She’ll get to take a sight seeing bus tour with the band! Cool stuff! Here’s their Reading festival rendition of “Room To Breathe”….We’re getting a hotLine call today from Corey Taylor of Slipknot! Hopefully I can get more info on the new masks, the album, who played drums and bass on the album and more! Got a question you’d like us to ask? Send it to me now either on our Facebook page or via the interact link on the home page. Make sure to put SLIPKNOT in the subject line! And net Tuesday, Sep 16, SLASH is coming to the hardDriveRadio Studios, which also happens to be the release day of his new album, World On Fire. Feel free to shower me with questions to pass along there too! (And no, no questions about Guns N’ Roses, please. He won’t answer them.)…..Meanwhile, here’s some dish: kind of shocked to read Neil Young is leaving his wife of 37 years, Pegi, for Daryl Hannah (ex of Jackson Browne.) Is nothing sacred?!….Lars Ulrich of Metallica has been attending Fashion Week shows this week in NYC with his fiance/model Jessica Miller. (She was former gf of Daron Malakian from System Of A Down! Doh!) …..And finally, watched this sweet documentary this weekend about the 10 years The Beatles‘ secretary, Freda Kelly, spent with the band. Her work started before they were signed, as she met them at the Cavern in their hometown of Liverpool. She became friends with them, which eventually led to her meeting Brian Epstein, who hired her. She also ran the Beatles’ Fan Club, receiving mail at her home at first. The 90 minute film is sweet. Look for “Good Ol’ Freda.”….Have a great day!
