Royal Blood also debuted at Number 1 in Ireland, Number 3 in Australia, and Number 6 in New Zealand, with U.S. sales and chart figures coming on today (Sep 3rd). Singer and bassist Mike Kerr told us he’s astounded at the success the duo have had in such a short time: “We didn’t anticipate any response really when we started the band. I mean, it’s crazy to think the band actually started not even two years ago, and we had no real agenda at all from the beginning. We were just having a bit of fun. So when I look back and see how far it’s come, it’s pretty amazing really.”…..This is cool. Pulse of Radio reports Faith No More has confirmed the band is working on its first new album since 1997. That was when the group released its last studio effort, Album Of The Year, before calling it quits in 1998. After reuniting in 2009 for a series of live appearances stretched out over the past five years, the band has once again decided to create new music together with a tentative release date set for April 2015. Prior to that, Faith No More will issue a limited-edition seven-inch single of the song “Motherf***er.” The 5,000-copy vinyl edition will arrive on Nov 28th, with the song then being released digitally on Dec 9th. The new album is currently being recorded in Oakland with Faith No More bassist Billy Gould handling production. Gould said, “We’ve always shared a chemistry between ourselves that’s unique to this band, but these past few years of touring together have made us aware that we not only play better as a unit, but we like the new stuff we’re coming up with . . . So we’ve decided: we’re going to get busy in 2015.” Asked by Rolling Stone what the new material sounds like, Gould said, “I think what we’re doing reflects where we’ve gone since we made our last record as Faith No More. I think this kicks things up a notch. And I think there’s parts that are very powerful and there’s parts that have a lot of ‘space.‘” You probably know the band from this classic track called “Epic,” and you can watch the then-controversial video here. I remember when this first came out, PETA went nuts over the goldfish being out of the water!!! The band will announce worldwide tour dates soon as well, with Gould promising that the band will “dedicate a little more focus to our fans in the States this time.“…..Black Veil Brides are calling their new album BVB IV. It’s set for Oct 28th. The boys will be by the studios on Friday and I am looking forward. Bob Rock produced the album in Vancouver, BC. Let me know if you have some questions you’d like to have us ask the band, or Jeremy Spencer. Get them in, especially for Jeremy, like soon!….Finally today, an artist named Anthony Vincent has recorded a version of Linkin Park‘s signature 2000 song “In The End” in which he approximates 20 other artists each interpreting the tune for a few seconds at a time to see what their versions might sound like. The featured artists include Guns N’ Roses, Korn, Eminem, Johnny Cash, The Doors,Alice In Chains, Led Zeppelin, Frank Sinatra and others. The track is an offshoot of Vincent’s “10 Second Songs” series, in which he takes a popular track and delivers it in a variety of musical styles. The clip ends with an endorsement from Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, who urges listeners to subscribe to Vincent’s YouTube channel.
