Slipknot‘s new posting is creeping me out this morning!! The GOAT HEADS ARE BACK! Watch it here. Lou Brutus interviewed Corey Taylor this weekend at Rock Fest in Cadott, WI and got some exclusive info I hope we can share soon! I also heard everything will be new! New masks, new outfits, even NEW LOGO! So excited and can’t wait for Knotfest and new KNOT music!….OK, so let’s get back to Rock Fest in Cadott! Lou is texting me from the plane and said the weekend was outstanding. He interviewed most of the bands on the bill (at least the ones we play here on the shows) and introduced a few of the bands. Lou also had his own MEET & GREET that he said went amazing and even got recognized ordering breakfast this morning the drive thru at McDonald’s on Eau Claire this morning! Awesome! He said sets by Cheap Trick and Aerosmith were outstanding. And the only bummer was he was supposed to introduce Rob Zombie and just before the show, he was told it was a no-go. Rob tried to do a couple of songs, but his lost his voice and had to stop the show. I don’t think he’s ever had that happen before. Blabbermouth reported Rob saying, “Sorry, everybody. I wish my voice wasn’t so f*@ked. I knew from the first second we started that it was impossible to get through the show.” The festival organizers posted: “Sorry Rock Festers. We didn’t mean for Rock Fest to end this way. What we were told is Rob Zombie’s voice went. We tried to get him back on stage, but to no avail. That’s what took so long.” The local newspaper, Leader Telegram posted this story. Meanwhile, if you hit the NEW hardDriveRadio APP, you can find Lou’s posts with pictures. ….Speaking of Corey Taylor, Pulse Of Radio says with San Diego’s massive Comic-Con International right around the corner, Stone Sour has released one last lyric video from its conceptual double album House Of Gold And Bones. The clip is for the title track, which appeared on the second of the two discs, and goes heavy on artwork from the comic books based on the album, which were issued last year by the Dark Horse Comics publishing company. Singer Corey Taylor, who came up with the album’s concept and wrote the comics, told us a while back what the basic storyline was: “It’s essentially a sci-fi/fantasy story that I created, but at its heart, it’s essentially about a man, standing at the crossroads of his life, trying to figure out what comes next. He’s got 20, 30 years in front of him — who’s he going to be for that 20 or 30 years? Is he going to allow himself to evolve and become a better man, become a different man? And, you know, it’s kind of wrapped in this insane world that I created.”….Three Days Grace bassist Brad Walst told Billboard the band’s fifth studio album is well on its way to completion, saying, “We’ve been writing non-stop and recording a lot. We have a good 10 songs, probably, recorded. We’re almost done with this record. We have another couple months to do in this studio and we’re done with this thing. It’ll hopefully be out by early next year.” As for what the record sounds like, Walst told us it goes back to the Canadian act’s roots: “It’s a pretty aggressive record. You know, the last record, Transit Of Venus, we kind of brought the synth world in a little bit and, you know, experimented a little bit with songwriting and our whole process. But you know, I’ve got to tell you, this record is really quite heavy and, you know, sonically and lyrically. It’s just got a heavy sound and there’s some really great songs on it. Man, I’m excited for people to hear it because I think they’re gonna really like it.”….Artist Direct reports Godsmack apparently has a huge fan in Hugh Jackman, best known as Wolverine in the X-Men movies. Jackman, who has to do extensive training whenever he plays the clawed mutant, said, “When I train, I listen to really hard stuff. While I’m working out, I listen to a lot of Godsmack as loudly as I can. That’s the closest to Wolverine that I can get (Laughs)!”…..Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit is a decent director. Example: “The Education of Charlie Banks.” If you haven’t seen it and want to watch something on Netflix, it’s worth it. Anyhow, he’s directing ads for eHarmony right now. Check it out…..Sorry to hear longtime Primus drummer Tim Alexander, who has also played with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, suffered a heart attack late last week and will undergo open heart surgery this week to clear a blockage from his arteries. Alexander has played on and off with Primus from 1988 to the present, while doing some early live shows with A Perfect Circle and recording the drum tracks for the song “The Hollow” from the band’s debut disc, Mer De Noms. He has also played on both of Puscifer’s studio albums and one EP (Thanks Loudwire.)
