Man, Nothing More‘s show last night at Webster Hall here in NYC was OFF THE RAILS! I haven’t witnessed such an energy packed show in, well, I don’t know HOW long! Congrats to Jonny, Mark, Daniel and Paul for nailing it and making a ton of NYC fans very happy! And if you go to their show in Syracuse, you can be the first to buy their new album! So blown away and wait til you hear their in-studio performance of “This Is The Time”!! You’ll freak out how great it is!…..Brad Delson on the hotLine yesterday. We have a mutual admiration society going on here. He said “Roxy has moxy.” Loved that! Anyhow, Linkin Park was inducted into the Guitar Center RockWalk in Hollywood, CA on Wednesday (Jun 18th). The band members put their handprints in cement next to those of rock legends like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Iron Maiden, Carlos Santana, Johnny Cash, Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith and many others. Speaking on behalf of the band at the ceremony, singer Chester Bennington said, “This spot in L.A., this strip of L.A., really means a lot to me. It was the very first place I met these guys.” With the 15th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Hybrid Theory, happening next year, guitarist Brad told me if the band ever imagined they’d be as huge as they’ve become: “Well, when we made Hybrid Theory, we certainly never expected it to be such a huge commercial success. Not only did it, you know, connect with people in such a massive way at the time, but it still resonates. It’s really surreal and it’s certainly a privilege for us to be able to continue to share not only those songs but songs that we’ve made throughout our whole career with such a dedicated and loyal fan base.” Love that guy! Did you watch them last night on Kimmel?…Another band I love: Foo Fighters are one of the headlining acts announced for the 2014 edition of the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience, set to take place at City Park in New Orleans from Oct 31st to Nov 2nd. They’ll be joined by fellow headliners Arctic Monkeys, Skrillex and Outkast, as well as dozens of other international, national and local acts. According to Rolling Stone, the festival will also feature performances from 30 Seconds To Mars, Slayer, AWOLNation, Rise Against, Gogol Bordello, Twenty One Pilots, the Melvins, Bleachers and more. The complete day-by-day schedule is expected to be announced in September. The festival will also host a number of large-scale interactive art installations and plenty of New Orleans-inspired food and culture. Tickets for this year’s festival go on on sale Friday, June 27th on the Voodoo website. A three-day general admission ticket will cost $150, while VIP credentials will go for $350. Other VIP packages run as high as $3,500….Starset is one of those bands you’ve been hearing a tune from, but not much else. Here’s an update for ya from our sister company, Pulse Of Radio: The group was formed in Columbus, Ohio last year and has already scored a Top 15 single on rock radio with “My Demons.” As the arrival of the band’s debut disc gets closer, we asked frontman Dustin Bates to described the group’s sound: “I call it cinematic rock. It’s basically a soundtrack to a summer sci-fi blockbuster if it were a rock score. That was sort of the goal.” Starset’s debut album, Transmissions, will be released on July 8th through Razor & Tie Records. The band has constructed an elaborate mythology around itself, claiming that they were recruited by one Dr. Ashton Wise of the Starset Society to spread awareness of scientific phenomena that has been ignored or hidden from public view. Among those phenomena are transmissions believed to be of human origin that have been broadcast from the constellation Ophiuchus. Starset is currently doing some shows with Framing Hanley and performs Friday night (June 20th) in Corona, CA. Corgan was saluted by the Illinois State Crime Commission with the “Jesse White Award,” along with brothers Gabe and Jacques Baron, for their continued commitment to helping Chicago’s children through their Resistance Pro Wrestling organization. The three men partnered in 2011 to create Resistance Pro and also launched an outreach program for Chicago’s youths, aimed at helping them maintain a positive attitude. I’ll be getting a sneak peek at some new Pumpkins music on Monday!….Celebrating birthdays this weekend: TODAY: Jeordie White, aka Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson, is 43.
