So sad seeing all the devastation in rural Nebraska and Iowa. Tornadoes wiping out these small towns. It’s just so shocking. Thoughts and prayers with those folks….Weather’s heating up and so is the activity in the hardDriveRadio studios. Today, Nothing More will do an in-studio performance and interview, later today, Escape The Fate’s Craig Mabbitt will be on the hotLine and tomorrow, Brad Delson from Linkin Park is calling in. So much great new music out there. I am listening to the Nothing More album (out on Tuesday.) It’s terrific. Talk about diversity in melody and style. It’s like a being on a trip through all these colors and textures. Very sophisticated and smart. Liking it A LOT! (Oh, my hippie days are coming back to me when I described that, but believe me, this record is so different and interesting. Loving it the more the more I hear.) Meanwhile, Lou Brutus is getting ready to head to Bridgeview, IL for the Jesse James Dupree’s Full Throttle Fest. He’ll be joined by folks and listeners from WJJO, WXRX, WIRX, WIIL and WQLZ. Oh and Halestorm! Most awesome! And next weekend, he’ll be at WBHB(Bob Rock 101.5) big shindig at Shiley Acres in Inwood, WV. Good times! Next month, he heads to Rockfest in Cadott, WI with Cooper and WECL. Hope you can be there too!….Korn will release an expanded edition of its latest album, The Paradigm Shift, sometime this summer. The new version of the band’s 11th studio effort will include songs the group worked on during the sessions for the CD that didn’t make the final cut, including the new single “Hater” and another track called “Hercules” that was intended for a movie. Also featured on the effort will be live tracks recorded “all over the world” and new artwork. “Hater” will hit rock radio on Thursday (June 19th and on hardDrive this weekend!) and will be available for purchase digitally next Monday (June 23rd). We had Jonathan Davis on the hotLineyesterday. Expect Korn to head into the studio for their next album later this year!….Pulse Of Radio is also reporting Ozzy Osbourne is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of the Nickelodeon pre-school kids’ series Bubble Guppies, according to Rolling Stone. The Black Sabbath singer will provide the voice for Sid Fishy, described as a “rock and roll fish who loves being rotten.” Sid apparently sports a red mohawk, eyebrow and fin rings and a gold tooth, plus uses slime spray on unsuspecting victims, all of which makes him stand out from the much nicer residents of Bubbletucky, the underwater town in which the show takes place. Ozzy said he was interested in playing the character because “I’ve always smelled a bit fishy.” He added that he agreed to do the show for his two-year-old granddaughter, Pearl, saying, “She has Nick Jr. on 24/7. I can’t wait to see her reaction when she hears my voice come from Sid Fishy’s mouth.”….Sevendust has teamed with City Drive Entertainment Group to make a live DVD and documentary. Production on the film will start immediately and include historical footage, footage from the band’s current “An Evening With Sevendust” acoustic tour, interviews and cameos from artists like Tommy Lee, Mark Tremonti and Wolfgang Van Halen. The concert portion of the film will be shot at two shows — one unplugged, one electric — in New York City, with tickets going on sale sometime in late June. City Drive/DC3 expects to release the DVD/CD project in early 2015….The Pretty Reckless posted the new video for “Messed Up World.” Taylor Momsen told us, “The video’s something different. It’s something that people haven’t seen before from this band. I wrote the treatment for it. We played with sarcasm a lot in this video, which is something new. I’m wearing pink. Who knew? You know it’s sarcastic when I’ve got pink on.” Very provocative!….After signing with Razor & Tie earlier this year, Starset will release their debut album, Transmission, Jul 08. I see the band will be at WJJO’s Sonic Boom Sep 13th….Happy 72nd today to Sir Paul McCartney!
