Friday the 13th, yo! Probably why I am sick today. I am someone who has a phone extension with the numbers 666, so I am not usually affected by this stuff, but anyhow, it is what it be……Seether have posted their music video for “Words As Weapons” and you can watch it here. The clip was filmed at Vasquez Rocks in Santa Clarita, CA and the look was inspired by French expressionist Jean Conteau. You’ll probably recognize it in episodes of The Outer Limits, Star Trek, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, tons of cowboy movies and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. And more recently, The Flintstones movie. Look for Seether’s new album, Isolate & Medicate, Jul 01 …Pulse of Radio reports Theory Of A Deadman has released the music video for “Drown,” the first single from the band’s upcoming album Savages. The video has an old Western setting but also features a sinister twist. Frontman and songwriter Tyler Connolly told us how the track came together: “You know, I tried something different on this record — I tried to wake up every morning and write a song. So it lasted about three days and then I quit. But two of the tracks ended up on the record, ‘Sun Has Set On Me’ and ‘Drown.’ And I wrote the lyrics to ‘Drown,’ two months later I wrote the riff, and then put the lyrics to the riff. It doesn’t really happen that way a lot of times, but I sent the song to the guys and they all were just like, ‘Wow, this is great. This is totally what we need to do.’” The band’s SaVages album drops Jul 29th….This will be EPIC! Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich has officially accepted the drum-off challenge issued to him by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and actor Will Ferrell, according to Pulse of Radio. After staging their long-awaited epic drum battle last month. Smith and Ferrell threw down the gauntlet to Ulrich in an interview with Spin, saying, “We did talk about another drum-off. With a third person that looks eerily similar to Chad and I . . . We talked about Lars from Metallica. Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith. He can settle that score now, too.” Ulrich — who doesn’t resemble lookalikes Smith and Ferrell at all — said in a statement, “It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I’m TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around!” Ulrich added, “I‘m sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money. But Will? That’s a whole different story. He rules the ‘bad-ass drummer universe.’ I mean, you’re talking about a guy who’s so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I’m definitely up for the challenge . . . Bring it on!!!“…. I love that Slash, who I was on the hotLine with on Monday from Stockholm, Sweden, got a tattoo AND gave the tattoo artist one of his signature! The new single “World On Fire” dropped this morning. During the clip, a band comprised of professional soccer players Gary Cahill, Samuel Eto’o and Hulk performs a “rap” version of the GN’R classic “Paradise City.” As the track comes to an end, Hulk lobs a guitar pick into the crowd. Surrounded by a few models, Rose catches the pick and uses it to open his Budweiser. In recognition of the performance, Axl raises his Budweiser in toast…..Birthdays being celebrated: Today: Steve-O of Jackass fame is 40.
