First off, our condolences go out to everyone at Fort Hood after yet another deadly incident on the base. Thoughts and prayers going out to the victim’s family and those injured and the entire Killeen area. Texas strong!…..Like A Storm dropped by the hardDrive studios yesterday! The nicest bunch of guys you’ll ever want to meet! And they surprised me with a didgeridoo (this wooden horn stick) which I am going to master before too long! And they gave me a lovely charm necklace from New Zealand that brings good luck! So cool of them! They are on tour now with Scott Stapp. Check them out and their new tune “I Love The Way You Hate Me.”They performed that in the studio as well as their cover of Coolio‘s “Gangsta’s Paradise.” Oddly enough, Falling In Reverse also covered that song on the new “Punk Goes Pop Vol 2” album that dropped on Tuesday…Hellyeah have posted the album cover for their forthcoming Blood For Blood album, designed by tattoo artist Paul Booth. Pulse of Radio reports Hellyeah’s vocalist Chad Gray teamed up with Booth, who has done Chad’s tattoos for years, as well as Slayer, Slipknot, Soulfly, Lamb of God, and many others. (I was at the studio when Chad was getting one of those tattoos, actually!) When asked about working with Chad on the artwork, Booth said, “The last project that Chad and I worked on together was the Mudvayne blacklight design. I had such a great time working on that art, when Chad called on me to design Hellyeah’s Blood For Blood, I jumped right into it as I knew it, too, would likely be a fun one. Chad always gives me the freedom to explore and interpret his ideas. It always makes for great collaboration. I look forward to seeing it all in print!” Here’s Vinnie Paul in a webisode talking about the new album….Pulse of Radio also reports PBS TV is airing a Nine Inch Nails‘ performance on Austin City Limits this weekend. The band has unveiled a teaser of their episode with the video of their performance of “Sanctified” on the show. Their episode was filmed last November for the series’ 40th anniversary. The band did a 10-song set for the show, playing newer numbers like “Copy of A” and “Came Back Haunted” and older cuts like “In This Twilight” and ending the set with “Hurt”. When talking about the episode, Trent Reznor said, “We’ve waited a long time to do anything like this,” while Austin City Limit’s executive producer Terry Lickona added, “We never thought we’d see the day when Nine Inch Nails would set foot on the ACL stage. I mean, they never did television for 25 years! I came away from this show having the greatest respect for Trent Reznor. He’s one of the most focused, intense and creative artists I’ve ever worked with.” Their hour-long episode airs this Saturday, April 5th on PBS. Check local listings for Austin City Limits…The original members of Hole are reforming, rehearsing and touring next month in the UK. Courtney Love announced it on her Facebook with pics with guitarist Eric Erlandson and drummer Patty Schemel. Melissa Auf der Maur will join on bass. They plan to release a single called “Wedding Day.” I recall the one Hole show I went to back n the early 90’s. Courtney had little baby Frances Bean out with her. I remember Drew Barrymore on the side of the stage holding her (yes, they had Frances wearing headphones). At that time, Drew was dating Eric….Birthdays being celebrated: Sebastian Bach of Skid Row is 46, Mike Ness of Social Distortion is 52 and Alec Baldwin is 56.
