Happy St Patrick’s Day! It’s 28 degrees right now in nYc, but at least it’s not snowing. The parade will still march on Fifth Avenue no matter. The first St Patty’s Day Parade was back in 1756. The first in Boston was 1737. Tradition! This is the day when the streets of New York are like one large moving platform of people. Kids who skip school, people who decide they need the day off to drink and those, like me, who have to go places and get to work. It’s usually nightmare for us folks in midtown. As Lou Brutus always says, “Don’t wear your good shoes!” I try to avoid all the areas as much as possible! LOL Drink green beer? Maybe….Today, I am going to hear the new Three Days Grace tune, “Painkiller” in preparation for my interview tomorrow with Neil Sanderson. Looking forward!…Yesterday, Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails officially announced their co-headlining tour for August and Sept. See Road Rage…..So my friends who attended the SXSW Convention in Austin that got a ticket were lucky enough to see Soundgarden perform their 20 year old album, Superunknown, in its entirety on Thursday night. Wish I was there….Last night in Bogota, Colombia, our friends Metallica performed a new song called “The Lords of Summer.” Check it out here….Poor Zakk Wylde! I just heard $10,000 of his gear was stolen Friday night in Chicago. According to a report on Metal Hammer, Zakk has confirmed his guitar was taken while his bus was parked outside The Chicago Theatre during the BLS mainman’s visit to the Experience Hendrix Tour, an event commemorating the influence of the iconic guitarist and featuring appearances from a number of respected axe maestros. “I thought somebody might have picked it up and put it in the back lounge (inside the theatre),” he tells the Chicago Tribune. “In 25-plus years, I’ve never had anything stolen.” The guitar was a Pelham Blue Les Paul painted with his signature bulls-eye pattern. Bummer. Hopefully, someone will return it, or a nice pawn shop owner will contact him…And, ok Black Veil Brides fans, and that person that told me the band had broken up or that Andy Biersack was going to leave he band, here’s some news for you! The Brides have officially begun pre-production for the follow-up to the band’s third album, last year’s Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones. The group announced via its Facebook and Twitter accounts that work has started with producer Bob Rock, whose resume includes albums by Metallica, Motley Crue, The Cult and many others. Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack hinted to us not long ago that the new album may be another concept disc like Wretched And Divine: “I think we’re gonna go in a bit of a darker, heavier direction on the next one. We’ve got some concepts. I don’t think we’re gonna do a sequel or a follow-up to this story, but we’ve kind of got a new story that we’re working on and I think we wanna follow that concept record route at least one more album.” They did a Facebook post that said “Last day of week 1 of pre production on #BVB4 with the legendary Bob Rock! Only a week in so far and we are already so stoked on the tracks and direction this record is going in! Rock n Roll!“….Pulse of Radio reports on a story from Gigwise that 30 Seconds To Mars went forward with its concert in Kiev, Ukraine last Wednesday (March 12th) despite unrest in the country and threat of military action from Russia. Frontman Jared Leto visited Kiev’s Independence Square before the show, where 80 people died recently during clashes between local police and protesters. Leto later told the audience at the gig, “You guys are in the midst of something really beautiful and it may be difficult, but there’s no price too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself,” adding, “I understand other bands have cancelled their shows, but there was no f***ing way, no f***ing way 30 Seconds to Mars wasn’t going to be here in this beautiful city, in this great country here tonight.” Watch video here…Birthday celebrators today: Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins is 47, and his former bassist and former Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur is 42.
