So excited about the new music from In This Moment!!! Yesterday, their management sent me this killer video (not the official clip) and the new tune, “Sick Like Me.” The album, Black Widow, is out on Nov 18th. Maria Brink said, “Black Widow is definitely the darker part of me. This album is about finding the weakness inside and turning it into strength. It’s about being reborn, setting yourself free and realizing the balance in everything — the dark and the light.” The singer added, “I am so ready and excited for the launch of this album. I think people will embrace its diversity and hearing different sides of us that they haven’t experienced yet.” Brink told us a while back why expressing herself through her music is so important to her: “For me it’s perfect because it’s an outlet. It’s like, I don’t even know where I would be or what I — I’d probably be some kind of psychopath maniac if I couldn’t release all of this. It’s almost like therapy and I mean, it all comes out into the album and just pours onto everybody else. But people, you know, seem to relate and identify too, because everybody has something, you know, that they go through or can identify with.” See their tour dates with Starset and Twelve Foot Ninja in Road Rage!…I’m just starting to get to know this band, although our engineer Zak is already a big fan! Canadian duo Death From Above 1979 released their new album, The Physical World, yesterday (Sep 9th). The disc is just the second from the act, who broke up in 2006, but reformed in 2011 and began playing live again. Drummer and singer Sebastien Grainger told us repairing his relationship with bassist and vocalist Jesse F. Keeler was just as important as bringing the band back: “We hadn’t spoken in five years so you can imagine how much fungus grew on the thought of one another in that time. So we had to clear the brush out, and if we’d just done that, that would have been enough for me. The real action for me was just kind of rectifying things between us, because it’s not good for your health if you have people in your life that you’re disdainful towards.” The new album is Death From Above 1979’s first album in 10 years, following 2004’s You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine. The band is appearing Nov 1 at the Voodoo festival in New Orleans. Be listening for the interview with Sebastian on hardDrive the weekend of Sep 27th. Check out their tune, “Trainwreck 1979” from the duo here. Meanwhile, not since The White Stripes came on the scene in the 90’s, have we seen so many two-man bands. There was Local H, these guys, Royal Blood, Black Keys. Crazy how two guys can make so much music, eh?….We’re close to finishing the editing of the Jeremy Spencer video interview. The Five Finger Death Punch drummer stopped by the hardDrive studios on Sep 3 to talk about his new book and more. Stay tuned! We will put it up on the hardDriveRadio app first, so make sure you have downloaded the FREE app now from iTunes and Google Play!….Speaking of iTunes, U2 has released a surprise new album titled Songs Of Innocence for free through iTunes, according to Billboard.
