Well hello again! Isn’t is so nice to have new AC/DC music? I love it! The band has unveiled the first full track from its upcoming album Rock Or Bust. Titled “Play Ball,” snippets of the song have been previously heard as part of Turner Sports ads for its Major League Baseball post-season coverage. The full song surfaced online yesterday (Oct 7th), along with the complete track list and cover art for Rock Or Bust, which is set to arrive on Dec 2nd. Meanwhile, drummer Phil Rudd sat out this past weekend’s (October 3rd and 4th) filming of two new videos from the album, for “Play Ball” and the title track. Singer Brian Johnson reportedly told fans that Rudd was unable to attend the London shoot due to a “family emergency,” with drummer Bob Richards filling in. Rock Or Bust is the first all-new AC/DC album since 2008’s Black Ice and the first in the band’s 40-year history without founding guitarist Malcolm Young. It was announced last month that Malcolm is suffering from dementia and would not be returning to the band. His replacement on the album and upcoming world tour is nephew Steve Young, who stood in for his uncle on a 1989 tour while Malcolm struggled with alcoholism. The 2-disc set features 13 previously unreleased demos, 5 are unreleased Sinnerdemos and 7 are non-album demos officially available for the first time….What Whoa! Slipknot singer Corey Taylor said on a Las Vegas radio program KOMP the band’s new bassist and drummer — whose identities are still officially a secret — have yet to be made full-time members of the nine-piece outfit. Taylor explained, “They’re not official band members yet, but they are people who play with the band. Time will tell whether or not they’re, like, full members.” Although the band has not revealed the names of the replacements for late bassist Paul Gray and fired drummer Joey Jordison, they are believed to be Alessandro “Vman” Venturella and Jay Weinberg respectively. Both are wearing the same generic mask onstage. Taylor continued, “With this band, you earn everything. You’re not just given that shot; you have to earn it. And so far, they’re doing really well. And we’re really enjoying jamming with them.” Taylor admitted he was unhappy when distinctive tattoos on Venturella’s hand identified him as Slipknot’s new bassist. The singer said, “I was, like, ‘Why didn’t we make him wear gloves?’ I was so upset. I was, like, we thought of all this stuff. We put the hood on him and then the mask . . . And then there is his tattoos for everybody (to see). I was, like, ‘Well, we missed the mark on that one.’” DOH!….Pulse also reports this. Rob Zombie said in an interview with an Arizona radio station that the reason he’s had so many different members in his band is because “you really have to find people that have the maturity level to realize that it’s not always better somewhere else. Like, say, (guitarist) John 5 . . . He’s been in the band now for 10 years. He goes, ‘I know it’s not better anywhere else. I’m staying in this band.’ And the same with the other guys.” Adding many musicians have left his band only to call later and ask for their old job back, Zombie explained, “Musicians are weird. Musicians have this real talent for doing the absolute dumbest things to their career that they could possibly do. You give them two choices, and they’re always gonna pick the wrong one — always.” Zombie told us that welcoming a new band member is always a challenge: “You know, at first it’s always tricky because whenever you bring in somebody new, they have just a different vibe and you’re used to the vibe you had. I think sometimes you can get complacent and it’s actually nice bringing in new people ’cause they just mix it up and you have to work harder to make it work. But then when it does work, it’s better.” Zombie also said in his interview he is “easy to work with,” explaining, “I know people that are in bands and they are treated like s*** and they’ll stay in that band for 16 years like a beat housewife . . . I’m not trying to be funny about that. It’s, like, the abuse they take they become almost accustomed to.”…..Halestorm have posted their third webisode on the making of their new album, which is set for an early 2015 release……A new cover of Guns N’ Roses‘ “Civil War” by Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath has been posted online.
