The Pulse Of Radio reporting Ten Commandos is a new project featuring Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, Queens Of The Stone Age/Them Crooked Vultures guitarist Alain Johannes and Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan. The outfit will release a debut single called “Staring Down The Dust” on Friday (Oct 9th), with a full album arriving in Nov. The project has been in the works since at least early 2014, when Ten Commandos members shared several photos of themselves working together on new music.
Ever wonder how rock stars live? Check out this property in Southern California owned by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. It’s for sale! Got 5.375 million to spare? It could be yours!
Meanwhile, Blabbermouth reports Megadeth’s Oct 06 concert at the MasterCard Center in Beijing, China ended abruptly after only an hour, possibly due to the band being censored by officials. An unusual number of instrumentals and extended guitar solos filled out the band’s abbreviated performance, with “Skin Of My Teeth” being played instrumentally and several other of the band’s best-known songs — including “Holy Wars” and “Angry Again” — omitted entirely. Dave Mustaine’s comments at the end of the show suggest that an official intervention resulted in a shorter-than-expected concert. “Thank you for leaving so that we can come back and play again,” he said from the stage as the band waved to the crowd after performing “Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?”
According to The Wall Street Journal, “authorities [in China] require entertainment companies to jump through hoops, submitting minute details of their show, including set lists. The process reflects the control held by China’s censors, who try to prevent incidents like one in 2008, in which Icelandic singer Bjork sang at a Shanghai concert about the ever-politically sensitive issue of Tibetan freedom.”
And now for a little Metallica music! This is filmed footage from the band’s Sep 16th performance in Quebec City, QC. Sit back, relax and enjoy! (Thanks Blabbermouth.)
