Dirt - Wednesday, April 25

Lou Brutus hopped on a jet to LA yesterday to be a part of Five Finger Death Punch‘s “Trespass America Festival” press conference. He co-MCed the event at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip with Metal Hammer magazine.  Apparently, the band arrived to the event in an armored tank, dressed in uniforms with their hands cuffed and hoods over their heads, accompanied by military personnel!   They were ushered into the room where the guards removed their hoods and cuffs! Viola!   Press conference ensued.  From what I can gather, members from some of the other bands were there as well:  Killswitch Engage, Pop Evil, Trivium, Emmure, Battle Cross.  Looks to be a long and eventful tour with stops ranging from large clubs to arenas. Today the band officially released their new single, “Coming Down“  from American Capitalist.  See our Facebook page for more details, including a picture of Lou Brutus with Five Finger Death Punch!….A new Soundgarden box set, called Soundgarden — Classic Album Selection, is being released by Universal Music next month. The discs will be housed in gatefold sleeves with booklets and new artwork, although no bonus tracks or previously unheard material will be included. Soundgarden’s first new album in 16 years is due for release this fall….Buckcherry will release Confessions, a concept album this fall.  The story is based on the life of singer Josh Todd. He said “It’s based on the 7 sins and true events that happened in my life as well, when I was younger.”  A short film will also be released.  Look for the record in September. And the band is on tour now with Redlight King and James DurbinSoil  is releasing “reLIVEing the Scars in London,” a live DVD, on May 08th….Jack White is doing the soundtrack to the upcoming Johnny Depp film, “The Lone Ranger.“  Depp enacts the role of Tonto. The film and soundtrack will be released in May 2013….30 Seconds to Mars are talking about the production of their 4th album.  Jared Leto said it will be a dramatic departure from anything they’ve done-”very orchestral, narrative, interactive and even more electronic than previous projects.”  Steve Lillywhite will produce and the record, like the last one, will be recorded at the band’s Hollywood Hills studios, as well as remote locations in India, Africa, Europe, the deserts of California and Yosemite.  Cool….Lit is back with a new album, View from the Bottom,  with a single released today called “You Tonight.” More info TBA….Happy 72nd today to Al Pacino.
