One of the legendary radio & television voices of all time, Don Pardo, the voice of Saturday Night Live, whose career spanned 6 decades, has passed on. Can’t fathom who can fill those shoes. Don was 96…. Pulse Of Radio says Slipknot issued and quickly fulfilled a casting call over the weekend for fans — also known as “maggots” — to appear in the new video for “The Devil In I,” the first official single from the group’s upcoming album. The call for extras to appear as “human maggots,” requiring that applicants be between 20 and 35 years old and “comfortable to be shooting in barefoot,” was issued over the weekend and was no longer accepting submissions yesterday (Aug 18th). The shoot will take place on either Friday (August 22nd) or Saturday (August 23rd) in the Los Angeles area. Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan told us not long ago Slipknot and its “maggots” have a special bond: “I’ve always believed that, you know, we are not a band, we are a culture, and the reason why we are a culture is because, you know, there’s a lot of things in this world people don’t trust, but people trust us. Our fans, our ‘maggots,’ they trust us.” Singer Corey Taylor told the BBC “The Devil In I” is “completely different” from “The Negative One,” the first song released online from the album. He added, “It’s more melodic, but it’s dark, (and) it’s powerful, man.” Meanwhile, more news out of the camp is just days away. Keep alert!….Korn has issued a live video for the song “Hater,” the first clip from the The Paradigm Shift: World Tour Edition. “Hater” is the lead bonus cut from the the special edition, which adds three studio tracks and six live cuts to last year’s Number Eight-debuting LP. Singer Jonathan Davis told us “Hater” was put together via long distance: “I did it here at home in Bakersfield, at our studio that we have, with (producer) Don Gilmore. He came in and me and him just got in there and when it was done, I sent it to Munky and Head and they did their guitar stuff on it, and Fieldy put his bass tracks and Ray played drums and it was done. And it’s really good.” Here is the fantastic new live video filmed all over the world for “Hater.” Enjoy!….Well it’s confirmed. Aerosmith‘s drummer seat normally occupied by Joey Kramer is being filed by his son, Jesse. Sky. Last week, Joey had an episode which required minor surgery. Thankfully Jesse is qualified and was there in a flash. One show that I am aware of is being rescheduled…..Alien Ant Farm are releasing a new song called “Homage” on Sep 2nd.
