Good morning! Here’s da news…..
Blabbermouth reports Avenged Sevenfold will give a “special never-before-seen acoustic performance” at the Clive Davis Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Oct 19th. The band’s set will be preceded by an “intimate conversation” about their career. A very limited amount of tickets go on sale to the public today (Sep 28th) at 12 noon PT/3 PM ET.
Avenged Sevenfold plans to embark on a full North American headlining tour in January and February 2018, and singer M. Shadows told us a while back about their unique new stage show: “What we want to do is bring a new element to our stage production. We don’t want to do all the same things that we’ve been doing. We’re looking at a lot of digital image mapping, we’re looking at inflatables, we’re looking at a show that will be a brand new experience, definitely for rock and metal.”
Dates and venues for the headlining trek have yet to be announced. The Stage, Avenged Sevenfold’s seventh studio effort, was released at the end of last October with almost no promotion beforehand, earning the lowest sales of an Avenged album in 11 years.
Avenged has made The Stage into an “evolving album,” continuously updating the LP with new songs over the past few months. So far they have released cover versions of the Beach Boys classic “God Only Knows,” Mr. Bungle‘s “Retrovertigo,” the 1961 Del Shannon hit “Runaway” and a Spanish-language recording, “Malagueña Salerosa.”
Lou Brutus will be attending Sonic Boom this weekend in Janesville, WI! One of the bands he will be talking is this one! Fozzy will perform three shows in three cities in three different timezones — all in one day — next month as part of a promotional event called “Fozzy Across America.” In addition, the band is allowing fans a chance to buy a seat on the private jet that will fly the group to the three shows on Oct 14th via the band’s new PledgeMusic campaign behind its upcoming album Judas.
The band claims that the three-timezone feat has never been attempted before by any other group — a claim that may not be accurate. The performances will take place at 9:00 a.m. ET at the Ranch in Fort Myers, FL, 3:00 p.m. MT at Star City Studios in El Paso, TX and 11:00 p.m. PT at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.
Frontman Chris Jericho recently told us Fozzy doesn’t rely on a big stage show to entertain its fans: “We don’t have a lot of production. We have us. We’re the show, and we want to make sure that everybody has a great time. We’re the party hosts, and that, to me, means a lot, because anybody that goes to a show — you might not want to mosh, you might not want to stagedive, but you do want to drink a beer, you do want to chant, you know, ‘Fozzy!’ You want to show your boobs if you’re a guy or a girl, just have a good time and leave with a smile on your face.”
Judas is Fozzy’s seventh studio album and is due out Oct 13th. The title track is currently Number 12 on the rock radio chart. Fozzy is on the road now to promote the LP’s arrival and plays tonight (Sep 28th) at A&R Music Bar in Columbus, OH.
New Motionless In White tune, and bonus…..it features Jonathan Davis of Korn! Love this clip! And love that it also samples “It’s My Party,” a song from 1963 from Leslie Gore! Motionless are on tour now with The Amity Affliction and Miss May I! See Road Rage for all the info!
“Necessary Evil” is off their new Graveyard Shift album. Singer Chris Motionless said about Davis’s guest appearance, “As I was writing some of the vocals, I was writing it hearing Jonathan’s voice as the person I was writing it for . . . I was like, ‘Okay, I’m just gonna risk it and throw it out there and see if he’s interested,’ and he came back and said he was definitely into doing it.” And we’re glad he did!
Speaking of Jonathan, he wrote the score for the upcoming film, American Satan, which opens Oct 13th. IMDB describes the film as a young rock band, half of its members from England and half from the U.S., drops out of college and moves to the Sunset Strip to chase their dreams. Living in a van, their passion and talent exceed their means to survive. An enigmatic stranger sees their true potential and emotionally manipulates them during a time of weakness. Caught in the middle of a Faustian deal, their music and controversial altercations end up influencing society beyond anything this century has seen, but can they take back control of their destiny before it’s too late?
The cast includes: Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Entourage, Halloween), Andy Black (Black Veil Brides), Ben Bruce and Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, John Bradley (Samwell Tarly of Game of Thrones), Mark Boone Jr (Sons Of Anarchy), BooBoo Stewart (Twilight, X-Men: Days Of Future Past), Bill Goldberg (WWE), Bill Duke (Predator), Denise Richards and more! What’s even more curious, is the band, fronted in the film by Andy, doesn’t feature his vocals! They’re the vocals of Remington Leitch of Palaye Royale. Definitely worth checking out!
Speaking of films, Of Mice & Men has made a short film about life on the road titled Unbreakable which is set to be released next month. The short film follows the band across multiple continents on their tour earlier this year and will be released on Oct 13th, with fan club members getting earlier access. The film is named after the song “Unbreakable,” which was the first track Of Mice & Men released without former vocalist Austin Carlile. Amperstand members get it now! We’ll have to find out more about this when Lou Brutus talks to the boys this weekend at Sonic Boom!
Celebrating life today: Bridget Bardot is 83, Ginger Fish (Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie drummer) 51, Moon Unit Zappa is 50 and Dita VonTeese (ex-Mrs Manson) is 45.
