Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! Happy 50th to Charlie Sheen!
Oh my! Sorry to hear the news there’s been so many rumors about. The Pulse Of Radio says Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and his wife, pop singer Avril Lavigne, are separating after two years of marriage, according to E! Online. Lavigne announced the news via Instagram yesterday (Sep 2nd), writing, “It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support.” A photo taken on their wedding day accompanied the post. This was Lavigne’s second marriage. She was previously married to Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, who tied the knot with model Ariana Cooper over the weekend.
Kroeger proposed to Lavigne in August 2012, just a few months after they started dating while working on music for Lavigne’s album at the time. They were married in July 2013 in an elaborate ceremony attended by 50 family members and friends, but reports that the couple were unhappy surfaced within a year of the nuptials.
Rumors that they were splitting up appeared in September 2014, with a source telling E! News that the couple had been “fighting a lot” and there was “jealousy on both sides.” Lavigne was spotted that same month celebrating her 30th birthday in Las Vegas without her husband. Kroeger dismissed the rumors last November, although sources told Us Weekly that he was privately informing people in Los Angeles that they were divorcing. Lavigne and Kroeger have both been plagued by health issues in the past year as well. Lavigne revealed last April that she was suffering from a severe case of Lyme disease, while Kroeger experienced throat problems that forced Nickelback to cancel all its tour dates for the entire second half of 2015.

Blabbermouth posted an interview with new Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura that was conducted recently in Germany with EMP Rock Invasion. Watch it here. She talked about how she got the gig with the band, saying, “All of a sudden, there was this e-mail popping up: ‘Are you interested in joining…?’ And I was, like, ‘What the f**k?’ . . . Three days later, I found myself suddenly on an airplane, flying over to New York to meet Amy Lee. And we had some very, very cool talks. She’s an awesome person. She’s a very, very great musician. And so I found myself suddenly inside of this empire called Evanescence.” Congrats, Jen! Looking forward to the new music!

Whoa! So what do you really think, Keith? Blabbermouth posted an item from the NY Daily News. The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has slammed the current rock scene, telling the New York Daily News that “it sounds like a dull thud to me. For most bands, getting the syncopation is beyond them. It’s endless thudding away, with no bounce, no lift, no syncopation.” Richards was equally critical of heavy metal, telling the Daily News. “Millions are in love with METALLICA and BLACK SABBATH. I just thought they were great jokes.” The guitarist’s new solo album, titled Crosseyed Heart, will be released on Sep 18. It is his first solo work in 23 years.
