Dirt - Thursday, Jan 19

First off all, I would like to remind ALL of our readers, this blog and the Road Rage page is hosted by me, Roxy, the producer of hardDrive and hardDrive XL. So if you see a mistake, DON'T BLAME IT ON LOU BRUTUS!…..I barely could wake up today. I dunno. Short work weeks really take it out of me! ….Here's what's up:  Corey Taylor, yes, THE Corey Taylor, tweeted he collaborated with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters on a secret project Dave is working on.  "HUGE checks off the Bucket List today….did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig.  Do the words 'Holy Shit' say enough about it?!?"  Meanwhile, Ratt's Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini also recently posted they worked with Dave as well, but NOT a track for a future Ratt record.  Wonder what Dave is up to?….Spoke with  Korn's Jonathan Davis yesterday.  He is doing more side projects as a DJ and recently did a 3 day cruise out of Ft Lauderdale to the Bahamas that was a floating rave.  He said it was fun.  JD is also working on the score for a film that is in production in Jakarta Indonesia and producing a dub step artist called Sluggo.  The guy never takes a break!  The band is gearing up for their Feb tour that begins on the 23rd in Detroit…..Dave Navarro stopped by yesterday and we talked about the planets, space debris, being single, kids, and just about everything but "Ink Master" and  Jane's Addiction.  Wasn't aware he hosts an internet radio show called Dark Matter.  Check it out…..Today, Godsmack, Staind and Halestorm will be posting the top 5 names for their upcoming tour they want YOU GUYS to decide what it should be!  If you see one called "Wicked Killer", vote for it!! ;) …..Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello is slated to appear on the new album from Bruce Springsteen, according to Rolling Stone. Springsteen manager Jon Landau confirmed Morello's appearance on the Boss' 17th studio effort,  titled Wrecking Ball and is due out this spring. Landau describes the new material as some of Bruce's most innovative.  Former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain is also on one of the tracks….Today, I'll have Dark New Day singer and producer Brett Hestla on the hotLine.  I haven't chatted with him in years, so will be great to catch up! …..Pulse of Radio reports Metallica songs are the inspiration for a new art exhibition opening at the Exhibit A gallery in Los Angeles on Jan 23rd. Titled Obey Your Master — after a line in the classic Metallica song "Master Of Puppets" — the exhibition features works from Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo's wife Chloe, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan and others, each interpreting various Metallica songs in their own unique way.
