The crowd was huge! (Almost as big as Comic-Com!) It was like a huge rock festival, for baseball fans! Even though most of the folks in the crowd were Atlanta Braves‘, fans from every team in MLB proudly wore their teams’ colors at the 75th Baseball Hall of Fame inductions in Cooperstown, NY! Was happy to be there for Joe Torre! It was hot as hell, but good times! Largest crowd they’ve ever had for the induction ceremony, which had to be held at Clark Field and not in front of the Hall of Fame steps. Guess I was part of history!….OH NO! We need your help finding these guitars! I just discovered Black Stone Cherry guitarist Ben Wells (currently on the hardDrive Live Tour) is missing several of his prized possessions. According to a Facebook post via the Glasgow Police Department, eight of Wells’ guitars were stolen in his hometown of Edmonton, Kentucky. The police department, as well as Black Stone Cherry have made posts asking for help in recovering the guitars. In the band’s post, they revealed that the instruments were stolen from their storage shed. The police department’s post said, “Please share this information…Thank you! These guitars were recently stolen in Glasgow. They are highly sentimental to their owner. Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to contact the Glasgow Police Department at 270-651-5151.” You can also reach out to us here and we can contact the police & band as well! The band has been touring on on the 2014 hardDrive Live Tour since Jul 11th and has other North American dates into mid-September. After the North American leg of their tour, Black Stone Cherry will take some time off before touring in Europe in October and November. See post here and Share!…Pulse of Radio also reports Tool guitarist Adam Jones has opened up about the band’s recent lawsuit and the affect that it has had on them releasing their new album. Jones spoke of the suit and told Metal Hammer, “Basically a long time ago, the band paid my best friend to do some artwork for shirts, albums and advertising — we’ve hired many, many artists over the years. And then he decided to sue us for one fifth of the money we’ve ever made. It was just ridiculous!” Jones went on to reveal the problems Tool faced with their insurance company, who tried to back out of covering the band, “I honestly think it’s like if you buy auto insurance and you’re in an accident, then you go to the insurance company and they say, ‘Well, you drive an SUV and we don’t really consider that an auto, so we’re not covering you.’ Then you try to argue with them and then they go, ‘Well, we’re suing you.‘” On how the lawsuit has prolonged the release of their album, Jones explained, “This lawsuit has really gotten in the way. All we want to do is get it behind us so we can focus on what we do best. I don’t want to just get it out and worry about the next record and then look back and go, ‘Why did I do that? It’s a piece of crap.’ I want to sleep well at night. It’s my legacy, you know? Some day I’m gonna croak and I wanna look back on what I did and go, ‘I worked really hard, took the time and had integrity.” He added, “I know our fans are frustrated and obviously want to hear new music. You gotta look at that in a good way and think, ‘Wow, they really like us and they want more!’ To be honest, you can’t beat that feeling at all.” …The 25th anniversary of Beastie Boys album, Paul’s Boutique, is being celebrated in the exact spot where the rap trio shot the cover art for the record. According to Brokelyn, artist Danielle Mastrion began painting a mural celebrating the milestone on a wall outside of the sandwich shop which now stands on the corner of Rivington and Ludlow streets in New York City. The project kicked off on Saturday morning (Jul 26th) thanks to the effort of LeRoy McCarthy — the man who unsuccessfully attempt to get the intersection renamed to be Beastie Boys Square. Mastrion is set to continue working on the mural until her design is complete… Five Finger Death Punch has unveiled a lyric video for their record “Watch You Bleed.” The track is featured on the band’s album The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Vol. 1. Small world!….When I was in Nashville a couple of weekends ago, my friends Lzzy Hale & Joe Hottinger from Halestorm had lunch. At the time, they told me (not to mention) they’d be playing an acoustic set on Jul 26th at The Basement at Grimey’s New & Preloved Music in Nashville. Blabbermouth posted the story with fan-filmed videos. Watch ’em here. They’ll be starting their new album soon in Nashville.
