I guess I am old skool.  Watched the Academy Awards.  Laughed at Billy Crystal's open, which was magnificent! Loved the gowns.  Sigh. Maybe someday we'll have a hard rock awards show where we can get all dolled up too!….Pulse of Radio reports Slipknot returns to the concert stage this week for the first time since last summer as it travels around Australia with the Soundwave Festival. With the customary confidence he is known for, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told Australian newspaper The Age what fans can expect, saying, "We give you everything. We're the greatest band in the world as far as I'm concerned."  While the band's future was initially in doubt following the May 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray, last summer's series of European festival dates re-energized the Iowa-based act. Crahan explained, "We're not a band, we're a culture and it's only going to get bigger. When we're on tour, all I want to do is see all of them . . . we're a special thing, we're our own entity."….Sharon Osbourne apparently told VH-1 Black Sabbath will do one show in the U.S. this summer in August.  She couldn't give out any other details, but when asked about whether or not Bill Ward would resolve issues he's having with his contract, she said "We don't know yet, we really don't know.   It's up to Bill.  The door is open for him to join us, so it's up to him."  What's this US, kimosabe? …Disturbed is releasing their first limited edition high-quality vinyl box set in April called "The Collection."  The set will be remastered and have unique and exclusive artwork.  Nice….Switchfoot and Skillet are among the rock acts announced as nominees for the 43rd annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, which celebrate Christian and gospel music. Switchfoot and Red landed nominations for Rock Album of the Year, while both those acts, Skillet and Need To Breathe also earned nominations for Rock / Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year. The Dove Awards will be handed out on April 19th at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta… Late Night's Jimmy Fallon has got to be recognized for his great comedic talent, especially his impressions of rock stars!   He recreated the Pearl Jam video for "Jeremy," but this time it was about NY Knicks' sensation Jeremy Lin.  It's Lin-sane!  Check it out online when you have a moment and if you never saw his David Bowie one on Tim Tebow, YouTube that one as well….Tonight hardDrive XL's Lou Brutus will premiere the new Slash single "You're A Lie."
