 Congrats to the fabulous Foo Fighters, not only for winning the 5 Grammys last night, but for reminding the world ROCK IS NOT DEAD!  It is very much alive!  And reminding people to write music from the heart and mind, and not relying on techno-tricks was cool, too!  That is was rock was made from.  And no slight to anyone who's not recording analog.  But sometimes we need to bring things back to basics to make them important again.  The Foos won for  Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance (Walk), Best Rock Song (Walk), Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance (White Limo),  and Best Long-Form Video (Back and Forth.)  Plus their performances last night we killer, as usual!  And I loved the set with Deadmaus.  Was that cool or WHAT?  Love the mouse heads! In other Dave Grohl news, a teaser has surfaced of Dave's documentary on the famous and now closed Studio City recording facility, Sound City,  where he recorded "Nevermind" with Nirvana.  Check it out at www.StudioCityMovie.com ….Slash announced the initial tour dates in support of his new album, due May 22nd.  See Road Rage!  Meanwhile, Slash will join a gigantic list of celebrities including President Clinton, Snoop Dogg, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Cornell, James Gandolfini and others on Feb 18th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to celebrate the 70th birthday of boxing great Muhammed Ali.  Slash commented, "Muhammed Ali is and always has been a role model and a hero to me. It's a huge priviledge to be able to perform in his honor.  He is one of the greatest icons of American culture and history."  See www.slashonline.com  for more….Pulse of Radio reports Marilyn Manson revealed the first single from his upcoming album, Born Villain, will be a song called, "No Reflection." The single will be released in May. Manson told a radio show  he's actually shooting the video for it next week. He said, "The first single you'll be getting shoved up your ears very soon is called 'No Reflection'. The record's done, shooting the video, I think next week. It's got a very special bonus track on it, features a good friend of mine. I won't mention his name yet. He plays guitar and he's very very well known in different things."  (Note: I wonder who it is??? )  Born Villain will be available later in the year through Cooking Vinyl….Happy 40th today to 3 Doors Down's Todd Harrell.
