The 2015 Rock & Roll Hal of Fame nominees have been announced. What irks me is Cheap Trick and Deep Purple still aren’t among them! WTF! Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Smiths, Sting (solo artist), Lou Reed (solo artist), the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Kraftwerk, the Marvelettes, N.W.A., The Spinners, Stevie Ray Vaughan, War and Bill Withers. The final list of inductees will be announced in the coming weeks with the induction ceremony set for April 18th, 2015 in Cleveland, OH. Rolling Stone posted: “For the third consecutive year, the public gets to vote alongside the artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. From now until December 9th, fans can vote on RollingStone.com for the nominees they’d like to see inducted. The top five acts will comprise a ‘fan’s ballot’ that will count as one of the ballots that determine the Class of 2015.” At press time, Green Day have accumulated the most fan votes, followed closely by Nine Inch Nails. The late Stevie Ray Vaughan is currently in third place, followed by Lou Reed and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts at Numbers Four and Five respectively. Can we write in?… According to Pulse Of Radio, Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen has told ArtistDirect in a new interview he has already started writing music for the band’s sixth studio album. Poulsen explained, “I’m actually working on new songs right now. We try out new things in the soundchecks during tour. We can already play a few new songs. I just need to put work into them. I have snippets for at least three other songs. When I get home, I’ll start to put all of the pieces together.” He told us not too long ago, if he has an idea for a concept that will tie the new album’s songs together: “Not really. You know, I have some few ideas, but you know, that can change from hour to hour. It might not even be a concept or anything. It can be just individual lyrics or stories. So the doors are wide open right now and I’m inspired by a lot of different subjects, so we’ve got to wait and see when we get a little bit further into the writing process.”….Papa Roach has declared Jan 27th, 2015 as the release date for the band’s eighth studio album, F.E.A.R. Songs on the album include first single “Face Everything And Rise,” “Skeletons,” “Broken As Me,” “Falling Apart,” “Gravity” and “War Over Me.” The new disc will follow up 2012’s The Connection. (Blabbermouth)…In This Moment has posted the cover art online for its fifth studio effort, Black Widow, which will come out on Nov18th. The first single, “Sick Like Me,” has already been sent to rock radio stations, with a companion video currently in production and due to be premiered soon. (Blabbermouth) I love it! I’m confused. I’ve seen two distinctively different release dates for Foo Fighters‘ Sonic Highways album, Nov 10 and 11. So look in stores on the 10th just for the hell of it, ok? Europe, your date is the 10th. Here in the USA, records are normally released on Tuesdays. Who knows! Whatever! LOL…Happy Birthday! Today: David Lee Roth is the Big 6-0! Dale, Jr hits 40 and Brett Favre is 45. Sunday, Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens will be 59!
